Jacksonville, Tex. Sept 24 —The Friday
night meeting of the Presbyterian
Synod In Jacksonville was an educational
meeting. Addresses were delivered by
President S. L. Hornbeak of Trinity University
and Wm, Ltokibbcii, president of
lane Theological Seminary. Cincinnati,
Ohio. Judge J. O. Terrell of San Antonio
was present In the meeting and being an
old student of Trinity University, was
Invited to make a short address. Saturday
morning the committee on necrology
made Its report and a Memorial Service
was held In honor of Rev, F. M.Shiflet
and Rev J. M. McCarty of Waco Presbytery,
Rev. John B. Smith of Houston Presbytery,
Rev. E. M. Mercer of Fort Worth Presbytery,
Rev. J. J. Donohue of Denton Presbytery and Elders
D. M. Prendergast, W. T. Fakes and A, S. Leachs.
The courtesies of the Synod were extended to Dr. Wm. McKibben of the Synod of Ohio.
