Robert James Cotter, 88, died Sunday morning (October 25, 2020) at his residence following an extended illness.

He was a native of Kaukauna, Wisconsin and had made his home in Ware County for the past 20 years.

He was the son of the late Otto Carl Cotter and Alice Turk Cotter. He was preceded in death by grandson Damien James Moran and brother Rudolph Cotter.

He served with the United States Army Special Forces during the Korean War and worked many years as a major appliance repairman. He wrote repair manuals for Roper Appliances and Modern Maid products.
He was a very talented carpenter who loved making furniture and loved to travel. He was also a member of the American Legion for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: (married Aug. 1, 1957) Laurel Cotter of Waycross,
three daughters,
Cynthia Lynn Cotter of Jacksonville, FL,
Abigayle Rae Cotter (fiance Patrick Keith) of Waycross, and
Rebecca Jane Cotter of St. Augustine, FL;

grandson, Justin Lee Moran of Waycross,
great grandchildren, Trinity Faithe Moran of Waycross and Jayce Alexander Moran of Blackshear, Ga.
and a brother:
James Poppleton of Florida.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
