Bishop Clarence Linden Brooks, 77 years, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Bishop Brooks was an avid woodworker and loved fishing. He was an active longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stanaford.

He was born on October 4, 1943 in Glen Daniel, WV to the late Linden Brooks (Deceased) and Hattie Manning-Brooks (Deceased). In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers, Kenner "Kenny" Brooks (Deceased), Ira Brooks (1935-2019), and Jerry Brooks (Deceased).

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn "Carol" Sue Roop-Brooks (B. 1946) whom he married on December 31, 1964 in Fairdale, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1964, Page 328, Application Date: December 18, 1964); his children, Clarence Linden Brooks, II & wife Lura Brooks, Christopher Jason Brooks & wife Letitia Brooks, Courtney Brooks-Shumway & husband Peter Shumway, and Candace Linette Brooks-Wilkinson & husband Scott Wilkinson; grandchildren, Kayla Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Ariana Brooks, Tatiana Brooks, Jason Brooks, Jackson Brooks, Logan Brooks, Nicholas Shumway, Riley Shumway, Mattex Shumway, Zoe Shumway, Regan Wilkinson, Kenzie Wilkinson and Cole Wilkinson; sisters, Truda Brooks-Blaylock, Lutisha "Tish" Brooks-Cantley, Meta Brooks-Belcher and Linda Brooks-Daniel; brothers, Estil Brooks and Lawrence Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Bishop Phillip Polk officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hope Mausoleum of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. For those who wish to attend the funeral service virtually, please visit Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens’ Facebook page beginning at 1:55 pm. Honoring Bishop Brooks as pallbearers will be his family and friends.
