U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules:
Name: Isaac Babcock
Marital status: Married
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1768 [1766]
Birth Place: New York [Massachusetts]
Age: 81 [82]
Death Date: Jul 1849
Cause of Death: Asthma
Census Year: [1 Jun] 1850
Census Place: Berlin, Knox, Ohio
Note: Where parts of this family did get to Ohio, that is most likely Isaac Babcock's death. Sister, Mary's dau Catherine, was at Trumbull County, Ohio. He was in New York for several years bef, but he was not born there. It does appear he m1. Persis Rice and his children were b. Salem, Washington, New York, and aft his m2. to Rebecca Ford, he had children at Florence/Vienna, Oneida, New York; and don't see when he got to Knox County, Ohio. His son, William was at Berlin, Knox, Ohio in Aug 1850, so this very well could be where Isaac passed. According to Sarah W (Babcock) Cooper's obit, her childhood home was at Mount Vernon, Ohio. I am unsure of that, her children were born there. Charles Copeland Moore's death cert states his mother was b. Vienna, Oneida, New York, and Isaac was on the census at Florence, Oneida, New York.
History for the Berlin Township area in the 1840-1850 timeframe has not been researched. There are a couple of cemeteries he could be in, but the research for the boundary lines do not have historical dates as well. If the Berlin Church Cemetery. Fredericktown was the closest church or cemetery at the time, he could be there. If the Ridenour/Moalsbough/Old Ankenytown Cemetery was there in 1849, he could be there. I'm making this profile to connect him to his parents, I came from the reverse direction, I have his parents, I was looking for him. Family members had him, and was looking for his parents. I'm seeing very good research done by family, a family member would need to request this profile from me, I am unable to find the information they have found, but it does look correct geographically, and regarding the few vitals I can find. I do question Persis dying while giving birth to Lucy, so this needs to be researched. Her stone says she was b. 1814.
