Gerald Don Sanders was born on May 10th, 1963, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Jack Monroe and Virginia Juanita (Hutchinson) Sanders. He grew up in a family with two brothers and six sisters, Jackie, Mary, Nadine, Norma” Ruth”, Juanita, Roberta, Gary and Gloria, Gerald was the youngest. He attended school and then began a career working for the City Of Muskogee in the Street Department. When he wasn’t working, he loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson bikes. Riding was a passion he never tired of. He was constantly listening to music, all genres, and could play both guitar and drums. Gerald never tired of being outdoors and loved the river where he could swim, fish and camp the weekend away. When the weather was cold, he enjoyed a good movie especially ghost stories. You could find him running around in his truck, it was his second favorite mode of transportation. He was the proud father of three daughters, Melissa, Destiny and Valory. He was not able to work due to disability and began to spend more time with his grandchildren, he adored them and loved hearing their stories of their latest activities. He passed from this life on Friday, October 23rd, 2020, he was 57 years old. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Jack and Virginia (Hutchinson) Sanders, one brother, Jackie Sanders, and four sisters, Mary Sanders, Norma “Ruth” Warren, Juanita Siedlick and Roberta Sanders, who passed in infancy, and two grandchildren, Malachi Thomas and Haiden Lambeth. Those left to mourn his passing include his daughters, Melissa Thomas and companion Ashley Harris of Tahlequah, OK, Destiny Reather of Muskogee, OK, and Valory Reather of Muskogee, OK. He also leaves his brother, Gary Sanders and wife Rowena of Tahlequah, OK and his sisters, Nadine Mathews of Coweta, OK, and Gloria Houston and husband William of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in his grandchildren, Gunner Thomas, Alexis Thomas, Xzavier Reather, Zeppelin Reather, Claire Smith, Carmen Baquera and Catori Baquera, his ex son-in-law, Edward Thomas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
