Samuel J. Hall Jr., 83, of Brown St., passed away on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1937 in Lewistown, a son of the late Samuel J. and Margaret A. (Johnson) hall. In 1956 he married Joanna M. (Klingler) Hall who survives.

Sam graduated from Beaver Vocational in 1955. After high school he served in the Air Force working with NASA.

Throughout his life he worked at the Viscose, Wood Mode and spent 34 years working at Penn Dot where he retired in 1996.

Mr. Hall was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure where he served on church council.

He was a scout leader for 21 years, he served on borough council, the McClure Park Committee, an active member of the McClure Fire Co., he was a member of the American Legion Post 942 and was also presented with a key to the city.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Steven L. Hall; two daughters, Cathy A. Hall and Shelly M. Hall; grandchildren, Joni, Stephanie, Janelle, Jacquelyn, Amber, Ashley, Clinton and Sabrina; great grandchildren, Madison, Kennedi, Gabriel, Jude, Grace, Isaac, Samuel, Gailyn, Kyle, Brantley, Ricki, Evie, Avianna, Tianna and Darius;

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure with Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in the McClure Union Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
