Earl Mayfield Mitchell, 93, passed away in his home surrounded by family on Friday, January 25th, 2019. Earl was born in Wood County, TX to Hugh and Lucy Mitchell on May 8, 1925. Earl spent the early years of his life farming, before he joined the US Army to fight in WW II. After the war, Earl worked as a milk man and in the insurance industry. In 1951, Earl married the love of his life, Wilma, and the two were together for almost 70 years and raised four children.

Earl will always be remembered for his love of westerns, his humor, and his love and dedication to God. Earl was very active in his church as a Sunday school teacher and as a Preacher. His dedication to his family, his sense of diligence, and his willingness to help anyone in need will always be missed by those who loved him.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Hugh and Lucy Mitchell; brothers, J.W., Mack "Jim", Hughdy "Joe," and Homer "Cag" Mitchell.

Survivors: Wife, Wilma Mitchell; children; Rodney and wife, Beth Mitchell, Kay Matlock, Russell and wife, Holly Mitchell, and Carol and husband, Johnny Dodds; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
