She was a graduate of the University of Nebraska in 1952, where she received her Master's degree from Union Theological Seminary in 1956. She was an active member of the American Guild of Organists. She is survived by her former husband Richard A. Fisher, son and daughter-in law, Jim and Nancy Fisher; grandchildren, Shauna Nickel, Lacey Fisher, and Claire Fisher; and great-grandchild Adri Nickel. She was preceded in death by her son John.
