Connie was a trailblazer in the Newark School System, where she was employed for over 30 years. She was a social worker at Lafayette Street School, East Side and Weequahic High Schools before her retirement in 1992.
Connie was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. With over 60 years of membership, she was known as “A Golden Soror”. Additionally, Connie was a world traveler. She visited 6 of the world’s 7 continents. Connie was also an excellent cook. Her exploits in the kitchen were well known by all who knew her. From main courses to deserts, Connie seemed to always be in the kitchen cooking up something memorable.
On Friday October 30, 2020, Connie’s immediate family will gather for a final good-bye and burial. At a later time, post COVID-19, the family plans to honor Connie with a service where all will be invited to share in the memory of her life and love.
