Edith Dorene Pickle, 82, a longtime resident of Jay, OK, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Grove, OK. Edith was born on October 27, 1937 in Summerfield, OK to Clyde and Mary (Turner) Cantrell. Mrs. Pickle married Mark Pickle on January 5, 1954 in Argentine, KS. Edith worked hard toward her CNA license and successfully became a CNA in 1976. Later she spent many years cooking as a Cook with the Jay Public School System. Edith loved to cook, spend time with her family playing board games, spend time with her grandkids playing “Mario”, she loved drinking coffee and doing jigsaw puzzles, and most of all going to church and being with her church family and her family. Edith was a patient, gentle Christian woman and her life works showed that she was prepared to live the rest of her life in Eternity. Edith is preceded in death by her husband Mark Pickle; her parents, Clyde and Mary Cantrell; her daughter, Mary Jane Pickle; brother, Wayne Cantrell and her great-grandson, Kaleb. Edith is survived by her 4 sons, Mark Edward Pickle and wife Renee of Southwest City, MO, Jerral Dewayne Pickle and wife Paula of Clinton, MO, James Charles Pickle of Jay, OK and Jefferey Alexander Pickle of Kansas City, MO; 3 daughters, Tammie Lee Dysart of Eucha, OK, Pamela Ann Pickle of Eucha, OK and Sheila Marie Gooding of Jay, OK; 2 brothers, Charles Cantrell of Live Oak, FL and Stanley Cantrell of Wister, OK; 6 sisters, Betty Brown of Eucha, OK, Connie Dawson of Eucha, OK, Nora Lee Shriver of Fort Ashby of West Virginia, Sarah Jane Crawley of Eucha, OK, Janice Cantrell of San Antonio, TX and Charmin Tennison of West Plains, MO; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and she was expecting three additional great-grandchildren at the time of her death; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
