Mrs. Barbara Ann Sanders Dennis of Buchanan, Georgia passed away on October 25, 2020 at an assisted living facility after an extended illness at the age of 82. She was born in Buchanan, Georgia on March 30, 1938 to the late Madison M. and Willie Cauthen Sanders. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Doyal Dennis; a son Derek S. Dennis; and sister, Darlene S. Weaver.
After Barbara and Doyal married she attended Cosmetology School in Atlanta and worked as a hairdresser/beautician until her daughter Terri was born. She then stayed at home to raise their three children. She was a member of Bremen First Baptist Church since the early 1960’s.
Survivors include, her children, daughter Terri and Stephen Garner and son, Mitch and Tina Dennis, all of Buchanan; brother, Charles and Deborah Sanders of Buchanan; grandson Grant and Heather Garner and granddaughters Erine-Fay and Christopher-Cameron McNaught, Ashton and David Carpenter, Eve Dennis and fiancé Logan Lambert; and one great grandchild, Preston Carpenter.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 27 from 12:00 pm-2:00pm.
Services will be Tuesday, October 27 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery. Roger Loveridge, Stephen Garner, Mitch Dennis, Tim Files, Todd Files and Doug Grizzard will serve as Pallbearers. Grant Garner, David Carpenter, Christopher-Cameron McNaught and Logan Lambert will serve as Honorary Pallbearers
