He was born in Derby, Connecticut on October 9, 1935, the son of the late Howard A. and Elsie (Wolfe).
Pastor Gene.served in the U.S. Army and later served many years as Pastor of the High Banks Seventh Day Adventist Church in Saranac and also pastored at the Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Plattsburgh, Chateaugay, West Bangor, Saranac Lake, Massena Company and others throughout New York State..
He was predeceased by his wife Marian L. (Mills) Thomas in 2009, his parents, a son Howard E. “Tom” Thomas, Jr. a grandson; Jonathan Damon.
Pastor Gene is survived by his second wife, Lillian Menshausen of Malone, two daughters; Margene T. Damon of Brushton, New York, Patricia T. Clarke of Clinton, Massachusetts, a daughter-in-law Linda Wheeler and her husband Steve of Brewerton, New York, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
