On Sunday, June 18, at his home near Sleeper, of infirmities incident to old age, John Long, aged about 75 years. The remains were buried Monday afternoon, at the Mayfield Camp Ground. The deceased was among the oldest citizens of the county and a member of the M. E. Church. LCS 23 June 1899
