Sylvia Jean Dunn, 85, of Princeton died Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Jeannie was a graduate of Princeton High School and attended Bluefield Business College. She was a former employee of the Maidenform Corporation in Princeton. While her health permitted, she was an active member of Kee Street United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and served on various committees within the life of the church.

She was born on October 27, 1934 in Princeton to the late James Aris Queen (1910-1991) and Virginia E. Whittaker-Queen (1912-2010). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Eric Dunn (Deceased); and a brother, James "Jimmie" Neal Queen (1932-2008).

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Melvin Lewis Dunn (B. 1931) whom she married on June 11, 1955 in Princeton, Mercer County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Mercer County, WV, 1955, Page 145, Line 38, Application Date: June 7, 1955); son, David B. Dunn; two granddaughters, Melissa Dunn-Alexander and Kathleen Dunn-Beach; three great-grandchildren, Mason Beach, Nash Beach,and Morgan Beach; and her devoted and loving caregiver, Jennifer Burks.

Out of concern for the present economic and social conditions there will be no memorial services. We ask for your prayers for our nation and the healing of our political, economic, and moral wounds. A private family gathering will be held later in the Whittaker/Queen Cemetery near Princeton.
