Myrtle (Reinke) Pease Brooks, 61, St. Joseph, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mrs. Brooks had been employed as a cook at the former Bode Truck Stop and then at the
D & G Restaurant.
Born in St. Joseph on Dec. 10, 1936, she was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph. She was a member of the Clair United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Walter and Margaret Reinke; a brother, George Reinke; and a sister, Pauline Bagby.
Surviving: a son, Vincent Pease, St. Joseph; three stepsons, Oliver Brooks, Anaheim, Calif., Perry Brooks, Cuba, Mo., and Watson Brooks of the home; three stepdaughters, Margaret Galbraith, Tampa, Fla., Billie Phillips, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jody Carter, Elwood, Kan.; two brothers, Walter Reinke, St. Joseph, and Charles Scritchfield, Tennessee; three sisters, Marie King, Crocker, Mo., Chelita Goolsby, St. Joseph, and Martha Blizzard, Polo, Mo., and a grandchild.
Service: 3 p.m. Sunday, Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. The body will be cremated following the service.
Inurnment: at a later date.
Family visitation: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

The wedding site was chosen to accommodate the bride's mother, who is a resident at Carriage Square. Other residents, staff and family members will also be present.
