Robert A. Adamski, 85, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away on Sept. 13, 2007. He was born in Racine, Wis., on May 22, 1922, to the late Stanley and Madeline (Mikulecky) Adamski. On July 28, 1945, at St. James Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wis., he married Charity C. McAllister, who proceded him in death on April 10, 2006. Robert graduated from St. Catherine's High School in Racine; "Class of 1940" and enjoyed riding motorcycles in his earlier years. He fought in WWII at the Battle of The Bulge, 2nd Wave of Infantry at Normandy Beach and wounded in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. In Racine, he was active in Holy Name Men's Society, Knights of Columbus, a Scout Master, Racine's Jr & Sr Boy Scout Drum and Bugle Corps, (The Explorers) and the Trooper Drum Corps of Casper, Wyo. Robert was employed as a milkman at Progressive Dairy for over 20 years. In 1976, he and Charity moved to Mesa, Ariz., to own and operate Mesa Gardens Trailer Court. He was a security guard at Mesa Lutheran Hospital for almost 10 years and then worked at AM/PM Mini Mart for 15 years. He enjoyed mapping of all the family camping and traveling adventures throughout the United States. His family was VERY important to him and lived by being kind to all he met along in his path of life. Survivors include his children, Mary (Bob) Kitz, Gilbert, Ariz., John (Rose) Adamski, Barb (Dan) Zerzanek, Peggy Bell, all of Racine, Pete Adamski, Gilbert, Ariz., and daughter-in-law, Julie Adamski of Racine; grandchildren, Dina, David (Sandy), Natalie, Tracy (Matthew), Randee (Scott), Carrie (Eric), Scott, Stephanie and Tony and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Joan Schulz and Marianne Adamski all of Racine, brother-in-law, Emil Leonetti of Waukesha; sister-in-laws, Betty McAllister of Ukiah, Calif., and Patricia Ritacca of Kenosha. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death were son's Bill and Jim, grandsons Kevin and Darren, sister-in-laws Dorthea, Virginia and Rita and brother-in-laws Milo, Hugh, John and Gil. Robert's wishes were to be cremated. Mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave, Racine, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at The Holy Family Cemetery, Highway 31 and 5 Mile Rd, Racine, Wis. Memorials have been suggested to your local Veterans Association or a charity of your choice.
