Skittenhelm, Ramona Chelsea, Michigan Age 87, died Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born December 9, 1932 in Knobel, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles Lee Shores and Freda G. Cole. Ramona moved to Ann Arbor at 9 years old with her mother. She graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1950. Ramona worked at Michigan Bell as an operator. On June 11, 1952, she married John Skittenhelm in Toledo, Ohio, and later moved to Chelsea, where they raised their three children. From 1969-93, she worked at University Microfilms International, later called Bell & Howell, where she was a lead Quality Control. After retiring, Ramona and John traveled all over the US, and would spend winters in Gulf Shores, AL. Ramona enjoyed reading, and going for walks. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2015. A private grave side service will be held at Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice.
