Obituary for Lee Charles White

Lee Charles White, Jr. went to be with his Lord October 14, 2020 at his home in Addison, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Lee was born on June 17, 1933 the son of Lee Edmond Charles White and Mabeth Audriene White. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Valerie Ann Peters White; son Jeffrey Carl White and wife Frances Kay; daughter Cynthia Anne Shaw; grandchildren Maxwell Tucker White, Leah Rene and Anna Michele Shaw; sister Carol Audriene Peters and her husband Robert Davis Peters; nephew Robert Duane Peters and wife Jenny Lynn; their children Elena Barbara and Erik Robert Peters.

Lee’s childhood home was in Oakland, California before his family moved to Portland, Oregon where he completed high school. Lee attended Pacific University where he pledged the Alpha Zeta fraternity before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corp in July 1952. At the age of 21, Lee received a meritorious promotion to Sergeant during his 4 years of service in the Korean war.

Lee joined the Junior Chamber of Commerce after returning to his hometown of Oakland before he began dating Val. They were married on September 13, 1958 in Oakland. Lee became a member of the Lakeshore Masonic Lodge and started his career as a salesman for IML Freight Inc. in Oakland. After several years, Lee was promoted to Sales Manager and moved the family to Denver, Colorado in 1965. He later worked for Buxton and moved his family to Dallas, Texas after being promoted to Regional Sales Manager in 1973.

In 1979, Lee, Val and a friend started a marketing company that developed into a plastic injection molding company that they co-owned until Lee’s retirement in 1996.

Lee stayed active in his community. He especially loved volunteering at Baylor Heart Hospital of Dallas for over 15 years, visiting heart patients before and after surgery. He also held various board positions for his home church of Schreiber Memorial United Methodist. He also served on the Addison Timbers HOA where he and Val resided from 1999 until his death.

During his last days, Lee always counted his blessings. He frequently said he was grateful for a wonderful life with his beautiful wife, two great kids, loving daughter-in-law and three amazing grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Lee’s life is tentatively scheduled for June 2021. Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Faith Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas or Marine Toys for Tots.
