GOD SMILED ON HIS EDUCATION Robert’s early education was in Columbia, South Carolina and then New York. He graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx, New York in June 1961.
GOD SMILED ON HIS SERVICE TO AMERICA Robert joined the United States Marine Corps on June 15, 1971, and was stationed in Cuba. Four years later on June 15, 1975, he was honorably discharged as Corporal E-4.
GOD SMILED ON HIS WORK After graduating, Robert worked as an Auxiliary Police Officer. He later began his employment with Dr. Posner Shoe Company as a salesman, and later became the Manager. In 1985, he became a Special Officer with the New York City Human Resources Administration, and on June 12, 1995, was promoted to Supervising Investigator. On January 25, 2008, he retired from New York City H.R.A.
GOD SMILED UPON HIS MARRIAGE Robert met Dorothy Mac in 1969. After a long courtship, he married his beloved Dottie on May 27, 1994. Robert would always say "Ask my wife; I can't do nothing without my wife".
GOD SMILED ON HIS CHRISTIAN WALK Robert received Christ and was baptized at early age. In the early 1960s, he joined Little Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of the founder (the late) Rev. George F. Lamb. Robert loved GOD, singing, and studying different bible translations. He sang on the Little Rock Young Adult Choir and Male Chorus in which he also served as President. On November 21, 1999, he was ordained a Deacon under the leadership of (the late) Rev. Charles B. Dawson. For a time, he served as Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board. After his retirement, he volunteered with the Little Rock Baptist Church’s “We Care Soup Kitchen”, and was fondly called "The Bread Man" by the clients. On February 25, 2018, Robert was presented with "The Preacher Man" award from Pastor G. Maurice McRae, Jr. for his many years of dedication and service to the Little Rock Baptist Church. Robert’s greatest joy was establishing Little Rock's annual Palm Sunday Senior Citizens Day in 1981. Believing that flowers should be given while alive, each senior would be presented with a flower, gift, and luncheon. Family, friends and nursing home seniors would be invited. He always sang one of two of his favorite songs: either "God Has Smiled On Me" or "Mother Don't You Worry About Me" at the service. In his younger years, Robert was a 32nd degree Mason at the Lion of Judah Lodge #40.
