Ethel was the daughter of Albert Minter Sr and Effie Ross Minter. She was educated in the Schley County School System. Her hobbies were cooking, watching television, listening to gospel music and word puzzles. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ellaville, Georgia where she served on the Deaconess Board and as Mother of the Church. She was also a member of the Ellaville Light Order of Eastern Star Chapter #323.
She was married to Deacon Charlie Jones Sr on April 8, 1950, they had 5 children.

2 Daughters: Ozella Jones Hinton and Marilyn Jackson(Nathanial).
3 Sons: James Jones, Charlie Jones Jr(Wanda) and Timothy Jones.
3 Sisters-In-Law: Maggie Jones, Martha Jones and Marie Ray.
13 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11AM in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellaville, Georgia.
