CHARLES ADAMS FOUND DEAD IN HOME BY SON - Old-Time Fruit Grower Of Acampo District Dies At Reading Table
LODI OFFICE STOCKTON RECORD, Jan. 31 - Dead since early last night, the body of Charles F. Adams, for 35 years a fruit grower five miles east of Acampo, was found this morning seated at the reading table by his son Guy. Yesterday Adams complained of a dizzy spell, and this morning his son drove out to the ranch to ascertain his father's condition. He found the body leaning over the table, as though Adams had fallen asleep with his head in his arms. By his side lay a newspaper which he had evidently been reading when fatally stricken. A neighbor states that Adams was alive at 5:30 last night. That was the last time he was seen. It is believed he was a victim of a heart attack. He was a native of Iowa, aged 64 years. Two sons, Ralph Adams of Brawley and Guy of this city, and a daughter, Mrs. L. Calhoun of Los Angeles, survive. The body was brought to the undertaking establishment of Hale & Bawden by Deputy Coroner James A. Carroll
