Gene Willadsen, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Willadsen, passed away early Sunday morning, January 5, in Fort Dodge. His tragic death was a result of a two year illness with cancer which claimed his life at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital where he had been taken Christmas Day.
Gene Robert Willadsen, son of Esther and Franklin Willadsen, was born at Storm Lake, Iowa, on February 12, 1945. He passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa on January 5, 1964 at the age of 18 years, 10 months, and 24 days. Death was the result of a lingering illness of almost two years. None of his immediate family have preceded him in death. Those who remain to mourn his passing include his parents, and one brother, Don, a student at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, as well as many relatives, and a host of friends. He was baptized and confirmed a member of the Nain Lutheran Parish, Newell, from which Church, he was also buried. The burial was at the Newell cemetery.
