Franklin Theodore Willadsen; son of Will and Anna Willadsen, was born August 5, 1898, on a farm north of Newell. He passed away after a lingering illness on April 30, 1971, after attaining the age of 72 years, 8 months, 25 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He attended a small rural school for his education. On May 7, 1940, he was united in marriage with Esther A. Sievers. To this union two children were born Don, and Gene, who preceded him in death. Early in life he was engaged in farming and later he was in the grain business in Newell for over 30 years. Franklin was preceded in death by his son, Euene, three brothers, Jay, Oscar and Axel. His survivors include his wife, Esther, a son, Don and daughter-in-law, Jean, of Bettendorf, two sisters Nora Nelsen of Storm Lake and Helga Kair of Newell, along with a host of relatives and friends.
