Linda Kay Chapman, 73, passed away on March16, 2019 at her home. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Rocheport Christian Church. She was born in Columbia, Missouri on July 19, 1945 to the late Frank Fortney and Frances Turner. She was married on June 25, 1965 to Philip Chapman in Columbia and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2015. They were both great role models to their children of what real love and commitment is. She graduated from University High School in Columbia in 1964. Linda operated an in-home day care for many years. She later went on to provide in-home adult care for the elderly. She cared for her mother-in-law, the late Edna Chapman until Edna's passing. Linda loved to travel, spending time at Mark Twain Lake with her family, garage sales and going for rides. She was a huge Elvis fan and was also good at playing scrabble and would take on anyone who would play. She always looked forward to the grand-dog Maisy coming to visit. Those who will miss her most include husband Phil; daughter Lori (Rich) Bishop; son David (Brenda) Chapman; grandchildren; Lauren Bishop, Karlee Bishop, Jennifer (Tony) Lea, Heather (Chris) King, Amber Todd; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Carl 'Butch' Turner, Chuck (Vickie) Turner; sister's Mary Maxwell, Maria (Paul) Begemann; brothers-in-law Bob (Marilyn) Chapman, Kenneth Chapman, and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Edna Chapman, and brother-in-law Fred Chapman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MU Adult Day Connection-Eldercare fund. She attended MU Adult Care for over 10 years, where she made many friends.
