Our beloved wife, mom and nanny passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Feb. 14, 2012, at the age of 77. We feel that God chose the sweetest child of his to call home this Valentine's Day.

Betty was born on May 1, 1934, in Minerva, Texas, to her parents, Tom and Dora (Seelke) Jones and lived her entire life in the Taylor and Thrall area. Betty shared a beautiful, loving marriage with her husband Emil for over 57 years after being married at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack on May 14, 1955. She remained very active at her church and Sunday school in Noack doing anything needed at any time and always working "behind the scenes" never wanting anyone to know that she was the one taking care of anything. She especially enjoyed planting shrubs, trees and flower beds at the church and Sunday school and tending to their care. She proudly served as a Sunday school teacher for the Nursery class bringing Jesus' word to his smallest children for 46 years, teaching more than one generation of several families.

Family meant everything to this generous, loving lady. Everyone knew that she was always there to help anyone with anything they may need and never asking for anything in return other than their love. Her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and extended family and friends were always in her heart and on her mind and she showered them all with her precious love.

Betty was a wonderful seamstress. She created many Hi-Stepper, cheerleader and twirler uniforms "back in the day" as well as sewing clothes for her daughter and many friends' children. She was a perfectionist in her sewing and it was evident in the end result. She was known as "Miss Betty" at Moss True Value where she joyfully worked for 17 years.

Mom and Nanny loved her flowers and her garden. Everyone knew where she lived and often visited specifically to see her flower beds and garden and hopefully have some of her wonderful homemade pickles and iced tea! She touched the hearts of anyone she met, being one of the most genuine people you would ever encounter.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Johnny Thomas, Bobby Gene and Walter Jones; and sister Dora Mae Barrow.

She leaves behind her loving family: husband Emil Bachmeyer of Taylor; sons, Michael Bachmeyer and Anita Holubec of Taylor, Randall Bachmeyer and wife Karen of Huntsville, Ala., and daughter Penny Hubnik and husband Steven of Thrall; grandchildren: Angie (Seth) Jordan, Aaron Bachmeyer and fiancée Brooke Anders, all of Taylor, Kaitlin Bachmeyer of Hunts-ville, Ala. and Shelbi Hubnik and Weston Hubnik of Thrall; great-granddaughter Audrie Elise Jordan of Taylor; sisters: Myrl Ethridge of Houston, Shirley (Carl) Travers of Thrall; and brothers: Charlie (Caroline) Jones of San Gabriel and David (Linda) Jones of Thrall. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb 16, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb 17, also at Providence.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Hubnik, Seth Jordan, Aaron Bachmeyer, Bobby Wayne Jones, Ricky Jones and Brad Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Angie Jordan, Kaitlin Bachmeyer, Shelbi Hubnik and Weston Hubnik.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Betty Bachmeyer Memorial Fund at Christ Lutheran Church, 6730 Hwy 112, Taylor, TX 76574
