Obituary for Kimberly Vance

Tracy. Kimberly Vance, 54, of Tracy, died Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella.

She was born May 11, 1966, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Mary DeMoss Coop. She graduated from Albia High School with the class of 1984. Following high school, she worked at Trophy Glove in Albia. Later she worked at DeLong Manufacturing in Albia. On December 29, 1989, she was united in marriage to Roger Vance at the Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy. Following their marriage Kim was a homemaker and did daycare for several years. She was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy. She enjoyed quilting, going to concerts, cooking, nature, looking for bargains at flea markets, and fishing, especially trips to the Ozarks. She had a lifelong love of animals especially dogs and horses. Kim loved spending time with family and friends, she looked forward to family reunions every year. She will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit.

Her family includes her husband of over 30 years, Roger Vance of Tracy; her parents, Harold and May Coop of Avery; two sisters, Vickie (John) Hauge of Deadwood, South Dakota and Penny Jones of Albia; a brother, Richard (Deb) Coop of rural Albia; her mother in law, Pat Vance of Tracy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert and Velda Coop and Thomas and Flora DeMoss; and her father in law, Monte “Bunk” Vance.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. in the Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy with Pastors Walter King and Teresa Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event. The funeral service will be live streamed at the funeral home’s YouTube Channel for those wishing to support the family from a distance. The family will be at the Tracy United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1:00 until service time at 2:30 to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella Comfort House.
