David L. Schroeder, age 78 of Chisago City passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. John’s NorthEast Hospital in Maplewood.

David was born on May 19, 1942 in Morgan, Minnesota to parents, Emery and Ethel (Raddtz) Schroeder. He was the eldest of three children. He graduated from Fairfax High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was stationed in Duluth for three of those five years from 1962-1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra J. Smith also from Fairfax in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in 1964. Their first child, Bonnie was born in 1962. Their second child, Steven (Charlie) was born in 1968. In 1970 David and Sandy purchased their first home on Ivywood Trail in Chisago City and still remain at their hobby farm. Their third child Jason was born in 1971. David drove truck for many years. He loved his birds and flowers as well as snowmobiling and camping. He enjoyed two big trips camping with their motorhome in Florida and the Grand Canyon. He and Sandy also enjoyed cross country snowmobiling from place to place with other couples several times a year.

David is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter, Bonnie Zemke of Harris; sons, Steve (Charlie) (Kris) Schroeder of Harris and Jay Schroeder of Osceola; brother, Jim (Sharon) Schroeder of Lindstrom and sister, Janet (Gary) Heckman of Saginaw, MI; his seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Ethel.
