William was the son of Oswell (Oswald) and Mary Elizabeth Dabbs Griffin. He married Dicey Copeland in 1847. They had Henry, Rebecca, Martha, Eli, John, Mary, Cornelius, four still born infants. After the death of Dicey he married Ruthie Martin. This was in 1863. They had James, Lucy, Sarah, William, Elizabeth, Carol, Sherman, George, Susanna, Nancy, Leander, and Rhonda. After Ruthie died he married Irene Rambo.
Apparently the Leslie Newspaper says he died on August 23rd. I used the date my grandmother gave me. So do what you want with this info. Pamela
