Ladd was born on February 6th, 1933, in Hinkley, Utah, to Nettie Mae Theobald and William Leon Abbott. Ladd lived in Hinkley, Utah until he was five years old, then moved to Centerville, Utah, with his father and brothers, after his mother passed away. Ladd said he “had it good; summers in Japan, and winters in Hawaii”. After discharging home, he met his lovely wife, Myrna, whom he courted and later married in 1957. They were then sealed in the LDS Manti Temple in 1963, for all eternity. Ladd and Myrna had five wonderful children together: Alan, Lori, Denise, Todd, and Tammy.
