Larry Littlebird Vaughn was born September 7, 1945 in Stilwell, OK to Wallace and Mary (Tehee) Vaughn. Larry passed away October 23, 2020 at the age of 75.

He attended schools in Stilwell, OK and Chicago, IL. He graduated high school in Stilwell and then attended OSU Okmulgee. After working as a truck driver for a while, Larry began his vocation of maintenance mechanic at H.B. Egan Manufacturing in Muskogee, OK and remained there until he retired.

As a young man, Larry married Linda Wheeler and tragically lost her and a baby daughter in a car accident. Later he married Theda (Catron) Hamilton and together they had two children. Although their union did not last, they remained lifelong friends. He then met and married Debrah (Acuff) Vaughn and they remained married for 47 years until his death.

Larry’s joy in life was spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved his animals and being outdoors. While raising their family he and Debrah spent most of their free time on the creek, floating, camping and four-wheeling with a beloved family of friends. He was an avid fisherman and made several good “fishin buddies” along the way. He also enjoyed participating in car shows and parades, where he also made good friends. He liked to frequent sales and auctions, where he managed to find bargains and treasures to bring home. Larry was a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma.

Larry is survived by his wife, Debrah of the home; daughter, Kristi and husband Juan Lucas; grandchildren, Ernesto Sanchez, Emilio Jasso, Jelaina Lucas, and Juan Lucas, all of Stilwell; daughter, Laina and husband Aaron Freeman of Muskogee; daughter, Jenna Vaughn of Muskogee; son, Larry Vaughn, Jr. and granddaughter, Makayla Vaughn of Muskogee; granddaughter, Terra and husband Miles Compton; great-granddaughters, Sylvie and Lucia Compton all of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Vaughn of Tahlequah, OK and Abby Vaughn of Tulsa, OK; and special sister-in-law, Anne Vaughn of Stilwell, OK. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Vaughn; son, Bobby Vaughn; granddaughter, Jalisa Sanchez; and brother, Otto Vaughn. He was also preceded in death by half-brothers, Daniel and Johnny Vaughan; half-sisters, Opal Walters, Lee Hubbard and Pauline Houland.
