Rachel Eileen Ray, 38, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2020. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park.

Rachel was born on August 17, 1982, in Dallas, Texas, to Paul Gordon and Janis Eileen Langham Ray. She graduated from Plano East High School with the class of 2001. Rachel loved to sing and performed in the choirs of Plano East, including the ensemble, Sound Invention. One of the highlights of her time in Sound Invention was performing for the Association of Jazz Educators Conference in New Orleans, LA. Rachel continued her studies in music at Collin County Community College, where she studied voice under David Alexander.

Rachel then decided to pursue a degree in business and earn her Associate's Degree. She worked for several title and real estate companies, but her most satisfying and rewarding career was mother to her daughter, Rayne. Rachel was Rayne’s everything, and Rayne was Rachel’s everything.

Rachel was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Reverend Thomas Ray, and maternal grandparents, Major Burke Langham, and Geraldine Flanagan Langham.

Survivors include her daughter, Rayne Fallen Hammit, her parents; brother, Dillon Ray; sister, Jessica Shipman and her husband, John; paternal grandmother, Peggy Thomas Ray; nieces: Lily, Paige, and Makayla; nephews: Brendan, Brody, and Ryker; three uncles; six aunts; two great-uncles; four great-aunts; and many cousins and friends. Rachel was a believer in Jesus Christ and received baptism on February 27, 1994.
