Mrs. Kari Lee died at the hospital at Amery, Jan 18, at the age of 74 yers. She was born in Kvam, Guldbransdalen, Norway July 8, 1869 and was married to Hans Lee. They built their home in Vance Creek, the land at that time being wilderness. They lived on the same land until the time of their death.
Her husband, Hans Lee passed away in 1926. Two children preceded her in death: Oscar at the age of 31, and Clara at the age of 23.
She leaves to mourn her loss eight children: Helmer of this community; Hannah, Mrs. A. C. Sipprell, Oakland, Calif.; Carl and Arthur, also of Oakland, Calif.; Mary, Mrs. R. W. Taylor, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Amelia, Mrs. Milton Aasmundrud of this community; Olaf and Otto who have lived with their mother on the home farm. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and other relatives and friends, some residing here and some in Norway.
The death of Mrs. Lee means the loss of one of the pioneers of this community.
She was well known in this community where she lived a good christian life and raised a fine family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at Akers church, Prairie Farm, Friday, Jan. 21, Pastor Anderson officiating. She was laid to rest in Akers cemetery.
