Joanne B. Williams
May 9, 1932 - October 21, 2020

Joanne (Jo) B. Williams passed away on October 21, 2020, in Bloomington, IN, at the age of 88. Joanne was born on May 9, 1932, in Cincinnati, OH, to Lucille (Kain) and Joseph Burns.

Joanne is survived by Donald J. Williams, her loving husband of almost 65 years. They were married on November 24, 1955, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Cincinnati, OH.

She is survived by her children, Rick Williams (wife, Karen, children Michaela Miller, Scott Williams, Caitlin Huser, Ryan Williams) of Thompson Station, TN; Michael Williams (wife Mary, children Meagan Williams and Erinn Conard) of Ellettsville, IN; Judy Williams (husband Philip Hill) of Bloomington, IN; Larry Williams (wife Missy, children Anthony Williams and Mackenzie Williams) of Bloomington, IN; Ken Williams (wife Shari, children Colin Williams and Griffin Williams) of Eden Prairie, MN. Her daughter, Kathleen Williams Van der Schans (husband Raymond, children Mackenzie Van der Schans and William Van der Schans), of Bloomington IN, passed away in 2018.

Joanne was proud to say she had 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Jo was predeceased by siblings Ruth Burns of Cincinnati, OH; Patricia Bruner of Dillsboro, IN; Jerry Burns, of Reading, OH. She is survived by her sister, Mary Catherine Krusling, of Cincinnati, OH.

She was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Church since moving to Bloomington 53 years ago. You could find her there with family every Sunday. She was a member of the Order of the Daughters of Isabella, a charitable organization of Catholic women. She also loved volunteering at the Opportunity House for years and years.

Jo devoted her to life to children and lit up whenever she was around them. Nothing made her happier than having a tea party on the floor with her grandchildren. Years ago, when her own children were young, she was overheard saying how disappointed she was that school was starting up because she would miss them so much.
