Last rites for Alva C. Chenoweth, 67, of Woodburn, were held in Rock Creek cemetery in Woodburn at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday under the direction of Walker-Howell funeral home. Rev. Lester Fields officiated.

Alva Chenoweth, who was born in Indiana in 1873, died in a Salem hospital Sunday. He came to Oregon at the age of six, living in Aurora before moving to Woodburn.

A graduate of Willamette univeristy, he received his teaching certificate in 1925. He married Annie Arnett in 1896. HIs one daughter, Iris, also received a degree from Willamette.

Chenoweth is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Payne of Morenci, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Ella Cole, Joseph, Ore.; a niece, Vera Richardson of Falls City; and a nephew, John Chenoweth of Portland.
