Dorothy Bailey Chambers, age 89 of Mobile, formerly of Sand Rock, passed away Tuesday, October 20th in Mobile.
Funeral services will be 11:AM Saturday, October 24th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wiley Bailey officiating; burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:AM Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Barry Bailey, Wiley Bailey, James Paul Bailey, Cade Hopper, Chad Hopper, Tyler Lumsden.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff Bailey, Randall Bailey, Garland Cox, LeBron Fannin, Billy Lumsden, Larry Oliver, Freddy Reynolds.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, James M. “Mike” Chambers; son, K.W. Michael Chambers of Mobile; sister, Martha Bailey Battles; grandchildren, Ana Carmen Chambers of Birmingham, Sarah Camille LoPresti of Chicago, IL; great granddaughter, Ana Cecile LoPresti.
She was preceded in death by brothers, James Hershel Bailey and John Wiley “Buster” Bailey, Jr.; sisters, Mary Oliver, Margie Bartlett and Ruth Johnson; half brothers and sisters, Mae Adrian, Gilbert Bailey, William Bailey, Morris Bailey and Myrtle Pearson.
Mrs. Chambers was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late John Wiley and Minnie Mozelle Weems Bailey, she was a Federal Employee at Anniston Army Depot and was of the Presbyterian faith.
