Resident of Bethune, SC. He was a son of the Kinlaw Strickland and Janie Hinson Strickland. He was a flooring contractor and a member of Timrod Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and wife, Geraldine Strickland, he was preceded in death by a grandson, five brothers and a sister. He is survived by his son, Wayne (Rebekah) Jernigan; three daughters, Diane Strickland, Teresa Strickland Brown and Lisa Strickland (Chuck) Gardner; five grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
