Rev Kenneth's life verse was, ""In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." [1 Thessalonians 5:18] He lived this verse out and was a man full of joy and gratitude. He loved old cars and fishing. For a short time he enjoyed his fishing boat. He was a humble man who made the best of every situation. He was kind and caring to all people. His wife in her last days testified that he was the most loving man.
Rev Sandra's life verse was, ""All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." [2 Timothy 3:16-17] Anyone who has even sat under her teaching knows she truly believed God's word had the power to change lives. She stored God's word in her heart and could quote it flawlessly. She had the ability to make everyone feel loved and cared for. She was great at decorating. She could take simple things and turn them into something beautiful. She had great vision for all things in her life and was a woman of strength and grace.
They had hobbies but nothing compared to their love for their family. They had three incredible sons whom they loved and always made time for. They created many memories and were the best parents. They took in each daughter in law like they were their own daughters. She took them under her wing and taught them how to be a good wives, moms, and ladies. They created special memories of laughter and special family meals especially lasagna. They valued family and made their home a safe place for all to gather.
They are best known by their favorite people as Nonny and Poppy. They treated each grandchild special and never left anyone out. They all felt loved and valued by them. There are many memories of dominos, biscuits & gravy and late night life discussions. Nonny let you know what she thought you should be doing and Poppy always made sure he stole a kiss for all of them to see. They always flirted with each other. Pop loved his black T-shirt and white tennis shoes. Nonny had her pretty purple cardigan on and always greeted them with a hug and kiss. Poppy had the best homemade cowboy biscuits and Nonny had the best homemade gravy. There was never a kid table only a family table. Their great grandchildren brought them so much joy. As they got to watch each one of them learn to crawl and eventually run around their house. They had their special bowls they could play with as Nonny put on a puppet show for them. Nothing brought a bigger smile on their face then the babies.
Poppy is remembered by his grandchildren as a humorous, wise, thoughtful, kind, hilarious, admirable, and a loving grandfather. Nonny is remembered by her grandchildren as a loving, sophisticated, strong, sweet, comforting, and wise a grandmother. They will always be remembered as a couple that held hands until the end never departing each other's side. They were the cutest couple, sweetest parents, and best grandparents anyone could have.
