According to the 1940 Federal census both of Katherines parents attended college, and her father taught music in a private school, her brother was a professional musician who spent 23 years as a Cellist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Her sister Nancy Ring Fenn who was born in Santa Barbara, California was a pianist who accompanied the Lexington Choral Society and the Master works Chorale
Katherine Ellis Ring was formerly of Boston, and is listed in the US Selected Quaker College Yearbooks and Alumni Directories 1896-2003. Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana. Who's Who Among Earlhamites, 1957, for the years 52'& 53'. She was also active in the Santa Fe Symphony, as principal second violinist.
She leaves behind her husband, Oliver Garrison Ricketson, III Assistant Attorney General, for Santa Fe. Four children, Garrison, Oliver, IV, Lissa and Alexander all of Santa Fe., Also her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ring of Placitas, NM and a brother Alden R. Ring of San Antonio, TX and a sister Mrs. Nancy Ring Fenn of South Dartmouth, MA.
