Dorothy Lois Richie "Her worth was far above rubies." November 22, 1916-November 30, 2004. The world has lost her physical presence, but heaven has gained the spirit presence of a grand lady! For 88 years, Dorothy Lois Richie, through her quiet unassuming nature, instilled in everyone she met that they were the most special person in the world. From that moment on November 22, 1916, when Dorothy came from the loving arms of God to the waiting arms of Ben and Gertrude Anderson in Glendale, Arizona, the world was not to remain the same. She was to make a difference. Dorothy was entrusted to make more contributions than most people were capable of. She married her husband Casey and was blessed with three children to assist in the legacy of making a difference. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Lynn (Goldie) of Payson, Clay (Tina) of Phoenix, and pre-deceased by her husband and daughter Joyce (Carl) Rollins of Scottsdale. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren are also carrying on her purpose. The estate of this prosperous woman consists of carefully organized remnants of almost nine decades of living. Faded photographs, cherished Christmas and birthday cards, meaningful letters, and children's drawings express the admiration and gratitude of many who recognized this woman's value. In addition to the attributes she modeled for each of us to perpetuate, she also leaves a legacy of humor, the importance of fair play, and an understanding that every person is precious in the sight of God. As the family unity was precious to Dorothy, she would applaud you if, in lieu of sending flowers, you would treat your family to dinner. Donations in Dorothy Richie's name to Trinity Hospice would also be appreciated. Private family services pending.
