Libby was a 1947 graduate of the Renovo High School and a 1951 graduate of the Lock Haven Teachers College (now LHU). She worked at St. Joseph's Catholic School as an elementary teacher prior to relocating to Levittown, PA with her husband. She retired from the Bristol Twp. School District after 35 years of service. Elwood and Libby moved to Pompano Beach, FL after their retirement and enjoyed golfing, riding bikes, and swimming. Eventually they returned to Renovo so that they could enjoy time with their children and grandchildren. Libby worked at Yesterday's for 20 years at the front desk, where she loved seeing people on Sunday mornings and welcoming the hunters during hunting season. She also loved playing the piano and sitting on the porch with her neighbor, Susie. Libby was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic and a member of Court St. Veronica, C.D. of A #111.
Libby had the most amazing sense of humor and was so kind to all who knew her.
Survivors include:
2 daughters: Nancy M. Keiper of Renovo, PA and Judy A. Barr, of Philadelphia, PA.
6 grandchildren: Elizabeth Keiper of State College, PA; Aileen (William) McGregor of Lock Haven, PA; John and Matthew Keiper, both of Philadelphia, PA; Sean Keiper of Renovo, PA; and Aubrey (Edwin) Zavala of Spring Lake, NC.
3 great grandchildren: Gavin Getz, Brady McGregor, and Cameron McGregor.
Also her dogs: Harley & Hank.
She was preceded in death by:
1 son: Brian V. Barr who died June 17, 2015
1 brother: Dr. William J. Potts
3 sisters: Catherine A. O'Laughlin, Mary P. Miller, and Sarah R. Dwyer
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wed., Nov 9, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave, Renovo, PA with Rev. Donald Dusza officiating. Private interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hyner, PA. Friends will be received in the church 1 hour prior to the service.
