Rebecca Frances Heathcott Hill, better known as "Grand-Beck", 97, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Harborview of Dyersburg.

Rebecca was born to James A. and Azzlea Heathcott. She served in various capacities and was a loyal member of Rehoboth Methodist Church in Roellen, TN. Rebecca was a member of the Dyersburg Keenagers, was a former Girl Scout Leader, and played cards occasionally with friends. She was a member of a bowling league for several years and excelled at this activity. Rebecca was a member of the Dyersburg Women's Club and a former board member of McIver's Grant Public Library. In 2016 she was the Rehoboth Homecoming Queen and in 2000 was the Mrs. Senior of Dyer County. At age 89, she was honored as the oldest employee for the State of Tennessee.

She worked at several public jobs throughout her life. In her early years, she worked as rivet welder on planes in Millington, TN during war time. After that, she worked at Sears in Memphis, TN. She later was an assistant for a physical therapist in Memphis, TN. She worked at Sylvania in Dyersburg, TN, also she was the manager of Cato's Dress Shop in downtown Dyersburg for many years. She and her husband, Edwin Daren Hill, owned and operated Hilltop Grocery in Roellen, TN for several years. She was a professional wall-paper hanger. Also, through the years she has been employed at Tennessee Career Center in Dyersburg, Dyersburg Literacy Program, Teachers assistant at Dyersburg Intermediate School, and in the office of the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Dyersburg, and at the YMCA at Dyersburg. Grand-Beck did not retire until she was 90, and even after that she volunteered at the Tennessee Highway Patrol because she was bored.

"I don't think about being old," said Hill. "It's all in the way you think about life". Hill refers to a quote in the employee break room that she feels captures exactly what she means. "A positive attitude is a little thing but it makes a big difference".

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Tilly and Bro. David Harstin officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery.

Survivors include her three daughters, Terrie Frances Reed (Gerald) of Brandon, MS, Paula Harrison Finley of Dyersburg, TN and Jill Hill Chaney (Kirk) of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Jack Daniel Hill (Sarah) of Newbern, TN; eleven grandchildren, Gidget Ann Harrison Lawrence (Jace), Rodney Hill Harrison (Leslie), Jason Earl Reed (Chris), Todd Hill Reed (Lawri), Chad Daniel Reed (Dione), Molly McKain Chaney Gilbertson (Chris), Lindsey Carol Hill Ford (Jeff), Whitney Lain Hill Young (John), Jack Daniel Hill II (Mary), Christopher Edwin Hill and Jonathan Allen Pope (Krista); eighteen great-grandchildren, Shelby Rebecca Connolly Middledorf (Ryan), Heath Edwin Thomas Connolly (Katie), Luke Harrison Connolly (Jasmine), Rylan Alexis Harrison, Brooklyn McKain Harrison, Adalyn Blaine Harrison, Elizabeth Nicole Reed Carpenter (Casey), Taylor Rebecca Reed, Zoey Lynn Reed, Parker Austin Reed, Jackson Earl Reed, McKenna Faith Reed, Eliana Grace Reed, William Hudson Ford, Chandler Elizabeth Ford, Houston Beech Ford, Judah Keith Pope and Sawyer Pierce Young; and two great-great-grandchildren, Nehemiah Daniel Salmon and Charlie Grey Connolly.
