Cecil Gerald Williams, 97, of Orange passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange, Texas.

He was born on March 6, 1923 in Jasper, Texas to his parents, Arthur Williams and Kate Harrington Williams. Cecil lived most of his life in Groves/Orange area. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Cecil retired from Gulf Oil as an operator after 36 years of service. He was a member of North Orange Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Jewell Glenn Williams and his second wife, Edna Earle Williams, his son-in-law, Larry Rice.

Cecil is survived by his daughter, Karen Rice of Orange; his son, Tim Williams and his wife, Marilee of Orange; two step-daughters, Debbie Mirabella and her husband, Charles of Orange; Pattie Hartje and her husband, Bill of Groves; his step-son, Ron Mosier and his wife, Rene of Georgetown, Texas. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Wendy Hanks, Shane Rice, Kendall Williams and Michael Williams along with 9 great grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren as well as several step great grandchildren, his sister, Madine Brake of Hattiesburg, MS. along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Cecil’s life will be at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves with full Military honors.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations to made to North Orange Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Cecil.
