Clarice N. Rountree, 76, died Sept. 23, 2007 at the Courtyards of Vero. She was born in Belzoni, MS and moved to Vero Beach in 1976, coming from West Palm Beach.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach, where she was a member of various Bible study groups and the United Methodist Women.
She was a member of the Garden Club of West Palm Beach.
Prior to retirement, she was a substitute teacher for many of the public schools and private Christian schools in West Palm Beach.
Survivors include her husband, Hurley Rountree of Vero Beach; sons, Billy Cochrane of Hurricane, WV, Frank Cochrane of Wellington, Stan Cochrane of West Palm Beach and Will Cochrane of Franklin, VA; step-son, Chris Rountree of Marietta, GA; step-daughter, Cathy Elliott of Sanford; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, 51 Main St., Enterprise, FL 32725.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A celebration service will take place 10 a.m. Sept. 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach with the Rev. Dr. Charles Lever officiating.
