at Richwood, WV, he was a son of the late Harold
Bennett and Ila Jeanette Spencer. He was also preceded
in death by his maternal grandfather, Archie (Pearl)
Spencer and paternal grandfather, Walker (Audrey)
Bennett.
He was a US Army veteran, a retired safety manager for
Alpha Natural Resources, loved the outdoors especially
fishing and kayaking, and he enjoyed researching his
family history and genealogy.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Leake Bennett; three
daughters, Katelyn Bennett, and her fiancée, Ben Levi of
Morgantown, Alice Noelle Bennett, at home, and Jessica
Bennett of Gatlinburg, TN; siblings, Tim (Marcy) Bennett
of Fenwick, Kevin (Sharon) Bennett of Fenwick, and Pam
(Dale) Facemire of Summersville; and a host of other
family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday,
October 16, 2020, in the Nazarene Camp Tabernacle at
Summersville with Pastor Alvin Gearhart officiating. In
keeping with his wish, he was cremated.
