Carol Wade, 65, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away at her home on Friday, October 16th, 2020.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 23rd, 2020. A Reception will follow.

The services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. Pastor Sabino Medrano will be officiating.

Carol was born on March 8th, 1955 in Galveston, Texas to Robert Louis Sullivan and Ima Jean Hayes.

After growing up in the city of High Island, she was welcomed into the home of Sharen Upchurch. Ms. Upchurch, known as “Mamaw,” became her mother figure after the passing of Carol’s parents. She graduated from North Shore High School in 1973. On November 11th, 1977, she married Gary Lane Wade and they were blessed with 5 children: Kelley Lane, Casey Travis, John Thomas, Merrishka Grace, and Briana Kay. Carol was a proud Christian woman who enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. She worked various administration jobs throughout her life, and she was passionate about caring for foster kids.

It was through her service in foster care which eventually lead to the adoption of her two daughters, Merrishka and Briana. She loved fishing, caring for animals, and weekly movie nights with her son, Casey. She was also a talented jewelry maker and enjoyed spending time with those in her community.

Carol was preceded in death by parents Robert Sullivan and Ima Hayes, Sharen Upchurch, sister Sharon, brothers Steve and Sonny, Gary Wade, and Kelley Wade.

Carol is survived by her children, Casey, John and wife Taylor, Merrishka, Briana and fiancé Elmer, and her grandchildren, Lenora, Emma, and Amelia. She is also survived by her brother Jeff and wife Melanie, sister Jeanie and husband Gary, sister Sharyl, and sister Pamala and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
