Carolyn Culley Price COLUMBIA - Mrs. Carolyn Culley Price went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 7, 2019. She was born May 27, 1937 in Columbia, South Carolina to Frank and Alice Culley. She graduated from Lower Richland High School and the University Of South Carolina School Of Banking. She retired from Wachovia National Bank as Loan Manager and Small Business Banker. She was a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Columbia Metro Baptist Association for many years. Carolyn loved her church and was a devoted member of Mt. Elon Baptist, where she served as Director of Music for 63 years. She led the Helping Hands Ladies Group and was a member of the FCL-Family and Community Leaders. She actively served on various other committees in her church and community, and as Youth and Youth Music Director in her earlier years. She loved helping and witnessing to others every chance she had, but her true passion was her music, where she looked forward to the day she would sing in God's Heavenly Choir. She sang at numerous weddings, funerals, and dedications services, and was invited to sing at the Baptist Convention. She also had the opportunity to sing in Billy Graham's Choir when he visited Columbia. She was asked to sing our National Anthem many times for the once- called Columbia Mets baseball team and the openings of the little league baseball seasons. Carolyn enjoyed spending time and vacationing with her children and grandchildren where many great memories were made. She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Price, Jr. and her father, B. Frank Culley. Those left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Carolyn Elise "Lisa" Price; a son, George "Draft" Price III and his wife Lorri; four beloved grandchildren, Preston Draft Price, Christian Blake Price, Carlie Annalese Price and Dylan Michael Price; her mother, Alice G. Culley; a brother; Ronnie Culley and former sister-in-law, Cathy Simmons; an uncle, Heyward Goff; a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins, and her church family and many friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park with burial to follow in Mt. Elon Baptist Church Cemetery.
