After serving four years in the service he reenlisted for another four years, relocating him and his new young family to George AFB, Victorville, California. In 1967 he had a choice of reenlisting or civilian life, he chose civilian life and ended up in Longmont Colorado. He started working for IBM shortly after and continued his career with them for 30 years. He was delighted to be back in his beloved Colorado. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was a handy man remodeling his homes, and participated in other activities. Mainly he enjoyed his golfing league and especially loved his Wednesday night bowling at Longmont Lanes and Centennial Lanes for many years with his buddies. The fishing trips he took annually after bowling season ended was a highlight every year for him. His fondest memories were his hole in one at Ute Creek Golf Course, bowling a 298 high score (dang so close to a perfect score of 300) and attending his grandkids many school activities and sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Lori Weston, his children Mark (Janae) Weston, and Linda (Craig Hahn), and his five grandchildren Brooke (and Josh Brown) & Sean Weston, Haley, Kalli and Trey Hahn. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Howe Mortuary on Thursday, June 1st at 2:00PM.
