"Death Takes Mrs. Henry Maggard"
Mrs. Henry Maggard who has been ill for some time, passed away Monday morning. She was well known in the Eastern part of the county and was beloved by those who knew her. Her work and service, companionship will be sadly missed.
Sarah Eveline Roberts was born October 6, 1875 in Wise County, Virginia. She was married to Henry Maggard, October 11, 1894. To this union were born ten children, two dying in infancy. Other children are still living. Those surviving are her companion, Henry Maggard and sons, Alfred, Irven, Lewis, Emery, and Willard Maggard; and daughters, Laura Combs, Viola Kenyon, Sinda Mourey, all of Bradlevyille, Missouri.
She professed a hope in Jesus in September, 1914, remaining a true, patient, faithful Christian until death.
The death angel claimed her in the early morning about 5:00 o'clock, February 27, 1939 at the age of 63 years, four months and twenty-one days.
The funeral services were conducted by Sam Stone. She was layed (sic) to rest in the Patterson cemetery February 28, 1939.
