Funeral services for Lola (Combs) Maggard, 98, of Bradleyville, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec, at New Mansion Church in Bradleyville with the Rev. Jeff Marsh and the Rev. Bill Austin officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery under direction of Kissee Mortuary and Chapel, Forsyth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
She died Dec. 17, 2002.
Mrs. Maggard was the daughter of Ambrose and Rosie Combs. She was raised in the home of an uncle and aunt, Bob and Ettie Combs. She was a member of New Mansion Church, where she taught a Sunday school class for many years.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Maggard and wife Arlene; two daughters, Juanita Whitaker and husband, Cletis, and Ruth Marie Hodges and husband Rolla; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Lewis preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cleo Combs; and two half-brothers, Granville and Loyd Combs.
