Terry Horton Masters, or “Hoot” to his family and friends, was born on November 20th, 1959, in Claremore, Ok, the son of Jacob Horton Masters and Ann (Wilson) Masters-Pritchett. He grew up with seven sisters and three brothers, and attended Briggs School and Sequoyah High School, where he and his brothers enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. He earned his living as a journeyman painter, working both commercial and residential work, his last employer being Kimble Painting in Cookson. When he wasn’t working, you could find Terry at home. He loved being in his own yard and always working on a home project of some kind either indoors or out. He was a talented shade tree mechanic and was handy in the kitchen, making the best meatloaf and chili ever. Terry was a perfectionist and liked the job done right. He was a quiet man until he got to know you and then you could enjoy his wicked funny sense of humor. He was an avid supporter of OU football, liked hockey, and liked to heckle and pick on anyone that rooted for Dallas! With the addition of grandchildren, came the time spent teaching the grandchildren to ride bikes or wrestling in the yard, he mastered this art with Makynleigh! She never tired of checking to see if Grandpa was home to go outside with. He loved the simple pleasure of home spent with his sweetheart of twenty three years, Pat Scott. Together they loved time spent with family and with each other. Terry was the proud father of one daughter Rachael and three step children, Marissa, Brian, and Jeremy. A Christian by faith, Terry was of the Baptist faith. For all he had hoped to do in the future, the Lord called this loving man home from his many labors on October 15th, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 60 years old and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Nancy (Hudson) Masters and Phillip and Peggy (Catron) Wilson. He also joins his parents, Jacob Masters and Ann Masters-Pritchett, seven sisters, Patricia McClendon, Sandra Cypress, Darlene Murphy, Linda Dreadfulwater, Carmen Masters, Gina Pritchett, and Connie Pritchett, and one brother, Andrew “Wahoo” Pritchett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved Pat of the home, and his daughter, Rachael Masters and husband Scotty of Skiatook, OK, and his three step children, Marissa Solenberg, Brian Scott and wife Christy and Jeremy Scott all of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves two brothers, Larry Masters and wife Carol and Jacob Masters and wife Tina all of Tahlequah. He lives on in his ten grandchildren, Makynleigh Solenberg, Piper Thompson, Harley Guernsey, Mikellynn Masters, Susie Cooper, Dayson Solenberg, Dalton Scott, Aidann Scott, Jeriah Scott, and Jakiah Scott, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
